mapas urban\u00edsticos de Medell\u00edn, impresos entre 1977 y 1990, con residuos qu\u00edmicos de una antigua f\u00e1brica de espejos. Aqu\u00ed, el soporte \u2014el mapa como s\u00edmbolo de orden y poder\u2014 se somete a un proceso de desestabilizaci\u00f3n material, donde sustancias como el nitrato de plata, el cloruro de esta\u00f1o o el \u00e1cido n\u00edtrico, antiguos c\u00f3mplices de la ilusi\u00f3n \u00f3ptica, act\u00faan como agentes de deconstrucci\u00f3n. Estos qu\u00edmicos, que en su d\u00eda dieron brillo a superficies reflectantes, se convierten aqu\u00ed en agentes de corrosi\u00f3n y revelaci\u00f3n. \u00bfQu\u00e9 refleja un espejo cuando su propia materia se descompone?<\/p><p>Estos mapas trascienden su funci\u00f3n cartogr\u00e1fica para convertirse en objetos h\u00edbridos: a medio camino entre el documento hist\u00f3rico, la pintura abstracta y el ready-made. La acci\u00f3n de verter los residuos no es un mero proceso t\u00e9cnico, sino un rito de revelaci\u00f3n, donde el azar \u2014las reacciones impredecibles de los qu\u00edmicos\u2014 y el control \u2014la elecci\u00f3n de los mapas\u2014 dialogan. As\u00ed, la obra oscila entre lo aut\u00f3nomo y lo relacional: el espectador no solo ve, sino que reconstruye los significados a partir de las grietas.<\/p><p>El resultado no son im\u00e1genes n\u00edtidas, sino huellas de un conflicto: la corrosi\u00f3n como met\u00e1fora de una violencia territorial que se auto-representa y se inscribe en el cuerpo de las ciudades y en la memoria de sus habitantes. Esa violencia, como cicatriz, encuentra en estos mapas un espejo corrupto donde reflejarse: una superficie que, en lugar de devolver im\u00e1genes claras, distorsiona la memoria y expone las capas ocultas de su historia.<\/p><p>La referencia al espejo no es casual. En la tradici\u00f3n del arte contempor\u00e1neo, el espejo ha sido un s\u00edmbolo de reflexividad fallida. Aqu\u00ed, el espejo corro\u00eddo niega su funci\u00f3n original: en lugar de reflejar, distorsiona y revela. Es una cr\u00edtica a la representaci\u00f3n hegem\u00f3nica de la historia, donde Medell\u00edn \u2014y su violencia\u2014 se mira en una superficie que no devuelve una imagen clara, sino una herida abierta. Un archivo traum\u00e1tico que, m\u00e1s que documentar, expone las lagunas de la memoria.<\/p><p>Los qu\u00edmicos, al reaccionar con el papel, no solo degradan el soporte f\u00edsico, sino que met\u00e1foricamente erosionan las narrativas oficiales, dejando al descubierto las tensiones entre el desarrollo urbano y las heridas que este ha ignorado. Esta serie, entonces, no es solo un ejercicio est\u00e9tico, sino un acto de resistencia po\u00e9tica. Cada mancha, cada grieta en el mapa, es un testimonio qu\u00edmico de lo que el espejo tradicional \u2014el de la historia escrita por los vencedores\u2014 no quiere mostrar. \u00bfAcaso no es la corrosi\u00f3n, en el fondo, una forma de verdad?<\/p><p>La obra no busca la permanencia. Los mapas, al degradarse, desaparecen como objetos, pero persisten como experiencia y pregunta. Esto conecta con la est\u00e9tica de lo ef\u00edmero de Claire Bishop, donde el arte contempor\u00e1neo abraza la p\u00e9rdida como acto pol\u00edtico. La corrosi\u00f3n, entonces, es una met\u00e1fora de la resistencia: lo que el sistema intenta borrar \u2014la violencia territorial\u2014 emerge con m\u00e1s fuerza en su propia descomposici\u00f3n.
