Stadtpl\u00e4nen von Medell\u00edn, die zwischen 1977 und 1990 gedruckt wurden, mit chemischen R\u00fcckst\u00e4nden aus einer ehemaligen Spiegelmanufaktur. Hier wird das Tr\u00e4germedium \u2013 die Karte als Symbol f\u00fcr Ordnung und Macht \u2013 einem Prozess der materiellen Destabilisierung unterzogen, bei dem Substanzen wie Silbernitrat, Zinnchlorid oder Salpeters\u00e4ure, einstige Komplizen der optischen T\u00e4uschung, als Mittel der Dekonstruktion wirken. Diese Chemikalien, die einst reflektierenden Oberfl\u00e4chen Glanz verliehen, werden hier zu Mitteln der Korrosion und Offenbarung. Was reflektiert ein Spiegel, wenn sich sein eigenes Material zersetzt?<\/p><p>Diese Stadtpl\u00e4ne gehen \u00fcber ihre kartografische Funktion hinaus und werden zu hybriden Objekten: auf halbem Weg zwischen historischem Dokument, abstraktem Gem\u00e4lde und Ready-made. Das Ausgie\u00dfen der R\u00fcckst\u00e4nde ist kein blo\u00dfer technischer Vorgang, sondern ein Ritual der Enth\u00fcllung, in dem der Zufall \u2013 die unvorhersehbaren Reaktionen der Chemikalien \u2013 und die Kontrolle \u2013 die Auswahl der Karten \u2013 in einen Dialog treten. So oszilliert das Werk zwischen dem Autonomen und dem Relationalen: Der Betrachter sieht nicht nur, sondern rekonstruiert die Bedeutungen anhand der Risse.<\/p><p>Das Ergebnis sind keine scharfen Bilder, sondern Spuren eines Konflikts: Korrosion als Metapher f\u00fcr eine territoriale Gewalt, die sich selbst darstellt und sich in den K\u00f6rper der St\u00e4dte sowie in das Ged\u00e4chtnis ihrer Bewohner einpr\u00e4gt. Diese Gewalt findet in diesen Karten wie eine Narbe einen verdorbenen Spiegel, in dem sie sich widerspiegeln kann: eine Oberfl\u00e4che, die, anstatt klare Bilder zur\u00fcckzugeben, die Erinnerung verzerrt und die verborgenen Schichten ihrer Geschichte offenlegt.<\/p><p>Der Verweis auf den Spiegel ist kein Zufall. In der Tradition der zeitgen\u00f6ssischen Kunst ist der Spiegel ein Symbol f\u00fcr gescheiterte Reflexivit\u00e4t. Hier verweigert der korrodierte Spiegel seine urspr\u00fcngliche Funktion: Anstatt zu reflektieren, verzerrt er und enth\u00fcllt. Er ist eine Kritik an der hegemonialen Darstellung der Geschichte, in der sich Medell\u00edn \u2013 und seine Gewalt \u2013 in einer Oberfl\u00e4che spiegelt, die kein klares Bild zur\u00fcckgibt, sondern eine offene Wunde. Ein traumatisches Archiv, das weniger dokumentiert als vielmehr die L\u00fccken im Ged\u00e4chtnis offenlegt.<\/p><p>Die Chemikalien zersetzen durch ihre Reaktion mit dem Papier nicht nur den physischen Tr\u00e4ger, sondern untergraben metaphorisch auch die offiziellen Narrative und legen so die Spannungen zwischen der st\u00e4dtischen Entwicklung und den Wunden frei, die diese ignoriert hat. Diese Serie ist somit nicht nur eine \u00e4sthetische \u00dcbung, sondern ein Akt poetischen Widerstands. Jeder Fleck, jeder Riss auf der Karte ist ein chemisches Zeugnis dessen, was der traditionelle Spiegel \u2013 der der von den Siegern geschriebenen Geschichte \u2013 nicht zeigen will. Ist Korrosion im Grunde nicht eine Form der Wahrheit?<\/p><p>Das Werk strebt nicht nach Best\u00e4ndigkeit. Die Karten verschwinden als Objekte, w\u00e4hrend sie zerfallen, bleiben aber als Erfahrung und Frage bestehen. Dies kn\u00fcpft an Claire Bishops \u00c4sthetik des Verg\u00e4nglichen an, in der die zeitgen\u00f6ssische Kunst den Verlust als politischen Akt begreift. Die Korrosion ist somit eine Metapher des Widerstands: Was das System auszul\u00f6schen versucht \u2013 die territoriale Gewalt \u2013, tritt in seinem eigenen Verfall umso st\u00e4rker zutage.
